One could react in several different ways when one sees a power line cutting through beautiful nature. One could feel that it is a human made abomination standing out like Frankenstein’s monster in a class of pre-schoolers. Or one could regard it as a feature of human innovations, refined through centuries of scientific discoveries, an example of the human strive for perfection.
I believe that many technical constructions or objects show the same beauty as a mathematician fins in an equation he or she has developed and refined. Things are messy while you develop them, but then you make them work, and at that time you start to simplify them till the point where every part is functioning as a part of the whole. Every part is doing something, having a purpose, and that is great beauty to me!
